Mar 12: Zero-Waste Dinner at Pelikan

Pelikan is teaming up with The Royal Danish Consulate General Shanghai to present an environmentally and sustainably friendly Zero-Waste Dinner which will include classic Nordic dishes from Pelikan's menu. Plus there will be three special guest speakers to make this an enlightening night as well as an exquisite dining experience.

Mar 12-16: Le Syndicat Pop-Up Bar

Le Syndicat is at the forefront of the revival of classic French spirits, and they are visiting The Ritz Bar & Lounge to give Shanghai a taste of their celebrated menu. Head bartenders Giovanni Allario and Juliette Larrouy will present six stylish French-style concoctions that cocktail lovers cannot afford to miss out on.

Mar 13: Riesling's Birthday Celebration

La Maison is hosting a birthday shindig in honor of Riesling, the aromatic white grape variety originally from the Rhine region. With a selection of fine German Riesling wines to choose from, this is an event that wine-lovers and connoisseurs are bound to enjoy.

Mar 13: Meet the Masters - Rick Marson

Chivas Masters Holland Champion 2018, Dutch bartender Rick Marson is coming to High On Rye (the lounge above Rye & Co.) for one night only to wow Shanghai locals with his award-winning cocktails. Keep an eye out for his signature drink 'The Emporium' which managed to impress the judges with a unique mix of Chivas 18, peach liqueur, chocolate port, olive brine and bitters. Shanghai's own Michael Chen (Chivas Masters China Champion 2018) will also be in the house. We're particularly interested in 'Mile High Club' utilizing a zero waste Oleo Saccharum in addition to Chivas 12, genmaicha, Manzanilla sherry, clarified lemon and pineapple juices and Boker's Bitters.

Mar 13: El Ocho Chef + Cóctel

Mar 14: Pi(e) Day at Dutch Pies

Mar 14, 16: Healthy Chinese Cooking

Another week, another chance to improve your cooking at Chef Shiyin's twice-weekly classes which combines traditional Chinese cookery with modern nutrition. The lessons provide an introduction to local ingredients, good quality foods and natural spices. There are different menus each week, so scan the QR code for the full schedule.

Mar 15: Indo Mart at Bali Bistro

Mar 15: D.O.C's Grand Opening Party at Dagu Lu

Italian D.O.C. Gastronomia Italiana is hosting a grand opening party at its new digs on Dagu Lu on Friday. From 4pm onwards there will be wine, Peroni beer, Aperol Spritz and Arancini balls all for RMB25. And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, then there's free pizza from 6pm to 7pm and funky music from DJ Groovy starting at 7pm.

Mar 16: Jiashan Saturday Market

One of Shanghai's top artisan food and craft markets returns this Spring to Jiashan Lu in the Former French Concession. There will be at least 30 of the city's best international food and drinks producers, designers and artists to bring high-quality and locally-produced items to market-goers.

Mar 1-31: Abbey Road 12 Year Anniversary

Abbey Road is continuing with its Anniversary Month celebration this week. Specials at this top restaurant include chili chicken, red chicken curry and chicken lemonade plus special prices on drinks with Tiger draft for RMB50 and red or white sangria for RMB25. Plus there's a special St.Patrick Day Weekend event at Abbey Road this weekend including pints of Guinness and live music.
